Begur is a municipality in the Baix Empordà region that includes the entities of Esclanyà, Aiguafreda, Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Aiguablava and Fornells, along with its beaches, which are among the most highly regarded on the Costa Brava. Currently, Begur is dedicated to tourism as the main source of its economy, but continues to maintain a strong historical roots in the municipality, since its geographical location has been from the beginning an important and strategic point.
