Genova with its village atmosphere and its narrow winding streets is located at the foot of the Na Burguesa mountain range and has been inhabited since pre-historic times. It has a small church named after the patron saint of Genova, San Salvador.
It also has an underground cave attraction which is the smallest cave system in Mallorca. Due to its elevated position Genova also has amazing views of the island that stretches for miles. There is a local fiesta in August to celebrate San Salvador, the patron saint of Genova. There are a surprisingly large number of restaurants to choose from in Genova including some with an excellent reputation. It’s certainly a good place to sample traditional Mallorcan and Mediterranean cuisine for example at the ever so popular restaurant Can Pedro with its amazing views from the rooftop terrace. The proximity to Palma as well as being close to many of the international schools on the island makes Genova a popular place to live for local and international residents alike.
